Alpine Slide

Steamboat's most exciting attraction, The Howler Alpine Slide, is fun for the entire family. Enjoy scenic views of downtown Steamboat Springs as you ride a chairlift to the top of historic Howelsen Hill. Using a sled provided to you at the top of the lift, you are in control of your exhilarating ride as you wind down a 2,400 foot track through the bends and curves of the natural landscape of beautiful Howelsen Hill.

Amaze'n Steamboat Giant Maze & Miniature Golf

Putt your way through our beautiful miniature golf course. Course includes colorful history, from a mine shaft to a conestoga wagon. Challenge the maze! Run through a wild and crazy labyrinth of twists and turns.

Boat Rentals

Stagecoach Marina at Stagecoach Reservoir and Steamboat Lake Marina at Steamboat Lake both offer boat rentals. Rent a pontoon boat for the day and have a floating picnic, or rent a canoe or fishing boat to do some fishing. Also available are kayaks and paddleboats.

Bungee-Tramp

The Slingshot Trampoline Bungee Jump is a fun family event that combines bungee jumping with the fun of a trampoline in a safe and controlled environment. Jump alone or with friends, but whatever you do, don't miss the opportunity for fun in the sun! Located at the base of the Steamboat Ski Mountain in Gondola Square.

Children's Mini-Bounce

Disc Golf

Test out your Frisbee skills on the nine-hole disc golf course at the base of the ski mountain. The whole family can participate in the activity. If you do not have your own discs they are available to rent from RideSports in Gondola Square.

East Face Climbing Wall

The Eastface Climbing Wall is a 24-foot climbing wall where you will be equipped with an automatic belay system and adjustable harness, so you can climb alone or with friends. If you haven't experienced a climbing wall before, now is your chance! Located at the base of the Steamboat Ski Mountain in Gondola Square.

Fly Fishing

Steamboat Springs has a world-class fishery running right through downtown! The downtown section of the Yampa River is designated as Gold Medal Waters; catch and release with flies and lures only. There are secluded high mountain lakes, meandering streams, and deep reservoirs throughout the Steamboat area. Hire a guide for the best experience.

Golf

Steamboat sports three 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole course. Haymaker is Steamboat's public course designed by Keith Foster, featuring a full practice facility, pro shop and the Haybale Bar & Grill. The Steamboat Sheraton Course is a private facility designed by Robert Trent Jones II. The public is welcome at this course. The Catamount Ranch and Club is a private ranch and golf community. The Catamount Golf Course was designed by Tom Weiskopf, and features a dramatic setting within Walton Creek Canyon. The Steamboat Golf Club is the oldest established golf course in the valley. The 9-hole course borders the Yampa River featuring Cottonwood trees and a small stream that offers beauty and challenge to beginners as well as skilled golfers. It is a private club that welcomes the public.

Gondola Rides

Hot Springs

The Steamboat Health and Recreation Center downtown provides access to 3 hot mineral pools along with a fitness center, waterslide, and more. The Strawberry Park Hot Springs are about 7 miles from downtown and offer an amazing natural hot spring experience.

Kayaking

Learn to kayak on the Yampa, a class 2-3 river that runs right through Steamboat Springs. This fun and exhilarating sport is a must for any water enthusiast. Beginner to advanced classes are available locally through Backdoor Sports or through Mountain Sports Kayak School, 970-879-8794.

Kids Adventure Club

Kids get together with new friends to explore Steamboat and the surrounding areas through a variety of fun and supervised activities. Camp is open to kids aged 3 to 12.

Mountain Biking

There are hundreds of mountain biking trails in and around Steamboat Springs. Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat is the gateway to many fine trails on Emerald Mountain. Tubing the Yampa
