2010 Steamboat Summer Events

Steamboat Springs is a well known for its world class skiing, scenic hiking trails, thrilling biking trails and more. Watch over 40 hot air balloons rise above the early morning mist during the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo, take a stroll down Lincoln Avenue at the Mustang Roundup with over 400 classic Ford Mustangs or attend a breathtaking fireworks display on the 4th of July at Historic Howelsen Hill. Mustang Roundup

Mustang Roundup

Date: June 17 - 20, 2010

More than 400 Mustang owners from Rocky Mountain Mustang clubs will convene in Steamboat for activities, including a timed event on Friday and a "Show and Shine" on Lincoln Avenue on Saturday. Spectators are welcome at the Meadows parking lot located at the corner of Mt. Werner Road and Pine Grove Road for Friday’s Autocross. Over 180 Ford Mustangs compete in this timed event. Saturday’s Show n’ Shine is a car lovers dream. Over 400 Ford Mustangs are lined up and down Lincoln Avenue for display. Click here for more information about the Mustang Roundup.

For over 100 years Steamboat has celebrated Independence Day in true western fashion. Cowboys’ Roundup Days celebrates the Western Heritage native to the Yampa Valley with events for the entire family. Kick back in your boots at several community events including, a community all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, the annual parade down Lincoln Avenue, Pioneer Days Block Party featuring a free community concert and root beer floats for the kids, evening rodeo, and one of the states largest fireworks display. Hot Air Balloon Rodeo & Art in the Park

Date: July 10 - 11, 2010

Join us for the most anticipated and colorful weekends of the summer. The 30th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and the 36th Annual Art in the Park have become a staple of Steamboat in the Summertime. On Saturday, start your day at Bald Eagle Lake for a spectacular early-morning affair as you watch over 40 hot air balloons rise softly from the mist and drift over the Yampa Valley. The Steamboat All Arts Festival is the newest and most collaborative event in Steamboat Springs, CO. It is a four-day event that highlights the amazing arts and culture in the Yampa Valley while featuring nationally-renowned artists. The festival incorporates all aspects of the arts into one cohesive event including dance, vocal, musical, visual, literary and culinary arts. Eriksen Cycles Tour de Steamboat

The Tour de Steamboat takes place on Saturday, July 17th. Ride the Rockies in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado. There are three routes; Route 1, The Classic Tour de Steamboat,110 or so miles; Route 2, The Stagecoach Out-n-back, 40 miles; Route 3, The Family friendly Yampa Valley Core Trail. Steamboat Springs Triathlon

The Steamboat Triathlon returns to beautiful Lake Catamount. With spectacular mountains as a backdrop, triathletes swim 3/4 -mile in beautiful Lake Catamount, ride 20 miles on mostly flat paved roads, and end with a 4-mile run on mixed pavement and dirt roads. Proceeds from this year's event will go to the Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation, benefiting non-profit organizations in the Yampa Valley. Steamboat Springs FREE Summer Concert Series

The Steamboat Springs FREE Summer Concert Series is a Steamboat summer tradition with five free concerts throughout the summer. Come down to the Howelsen Hill amphitheater, in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs, for a night of FREE live music. Don’t forget your picnic blanket, chair and dancing shoes! The free concerts start around 5:00 p.m. with an opening band and then the main act to follow. There will be food vendors, kids activities and beer sales at the concert. The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is the most successful weekly rodeo in the country. While the roots of rodeo in this modest little Northwestern Colorado ranch town/world class ski resort trace back over 100 years.
